In Wrath of the Titans, which the story takes place during a decade after the incident that occurred at Clash of the Titans, Perseus (Sam Worthington) is now living as a fisherman with his son, Helius (John Bell), after his wife died Io. One day, Perseus visited by his father, Zeus (Liam Neeson), who asked for help Perseus to return to lead the troops to secure the power of the gods of some of the threats that come because of their power waning as more and more men are turning away from god. Perseus, who did not want to risk that by its participation in the war would make their children should grow their own, and then refused the request of Zeus.
The threat itself then became evident when Zeus betrayed son, Ares (Edgar Ramirez), in cooperation with the siblings of Zeus, Hades (Ralph Fiennes), to seize power in order to revive the power of his father Zeus and Hades, Kronos. Poseidon (Danny Huston), who was seriously injured due to attack Ares and Hades, told the news to Perseus and asked him to save Zeus. On the advice of Poseidon, Perseus finally went to see Queen Andromeda (Rosamund Pike) and son of Poseidon, Agenor (Toby Kebbell), who can help her to see Hephaestus (Bill Nighy) who can then show them the way to the place where Zeus imprisoned Ares and Hades.
Conducted refresher in the director's chair and scriptwriting department does not seem so meaningful influence on the rhythm of the telling of the Wrath of the Titans. Still the same as prekuelnya, Wrath of the Titans comes with a series of stories that are so tiresome plot, dialogue and characterization that sounds ridiculous really shallow. So weak storytelling Wrath of the Titans, most viewers will probably find it so curious about the amount of salary received by Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes, so they want to act in a movie this bad quality. Those hoping to get a fresh serving of action when compared to the Clash of the Titans obviously only going to get a disappointment.
The biggest problem comes from the other main actor of this movie, Sam Worthington.Remember when the days where Worthington was chosen for the film starring James Cameron for Avatar (2009) which later became the best-selling movie of all time? Later proved that Worthington failed to capitalize on a great opportunity to show the capability of acting that he actually had. True, Worthington actually has acting ability. However, he seems constantly to choose films like Avatar or Clash of the Titans is pure only able to explore his ability as an action star by using the advantages of visual effects technology to hide his acting ability that appears so minimal. In Wrath of the Titans, Worthington increasingly fading star charisma to make the film lose its biggest attraction. If the Clash of the Titans presence Worthington is able to provide separate points, then the presence of Worthington in the film's sequel is now only as a complement to the ranks of the department acting alone.
There are no significant problems from the acting department. Worthington, Neeson, Fiennes, Rosamund Pike, Edgar Ramirez, Toby Kebbell to Bill Nighy able to give the appearance they are capable of acting. However, the main advantage of the fact Wrath of the Titans is the improvement that occurred in the visual effects department. Although it uses three-dimensional second-class technology - aka the conversion, the effect of three-dimensional appearance Wrath of the Titans are able to perform better than its predecessor films. Utilization of the presence of three-dimensional effect itself also felt the most when Jonathan Liebesman able to utilize the many scenes that were intended to explore the visual technology.
Wrath of the Titans obviously is a pure product that comes as its predecessor the film won a major commercial success. Unfortunately, the Wrath of the Titans are not able to fix all the shortcomings of the story that never made Clash of the Titans appear so dull it.Wrath of the Titans is still performing with the way the story is far from satisfactory, tend to be flat, with dialogues that are still performing with the way the story is far from satisfactory, conflicts tend to be flat, with the cheesy dialogue and characterization is shallow. Somehow fate of this movie if Jonathan Liebesman also failed to provide improvements in terms of its visual appearance. Wrath of the Titans still manages to look pretty entertaining. But it certainly will not stop many people to argue that this franchise should never have been passed.
