Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2012)

At a glance info: Nicolas Cage will join Steve Carell, Jack Black, Catherine Keener and Elizabeth Banks in the latest film directed by screenwriter Charlie Kaufman at the same time, Frank or Francis, is scheduled to release in 2013. Obviously a film with a very promising prospect given the Kaufman manuscript known as the movie Being John Malkovich (1999) and Adaptation (2002) who won an Academy Award nomination in the category of Best Original Screenplay as well as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004) which eventually Kaufman won an Academy Award. While waiting for the release of Frank or Francis, you can see the appearance of Cage in the movie Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance - which hopefully will be your last memory about how close Cage with mediocre-quality films.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is a sequel to Ghost Rider managed to reap the commercial benefit of U.S. $ 228 million of production costs of U.S. $ 110 million when it was released in 2007 ago ... although getting criticism from film critics the world and "made it" gives Cage a nomination as Worst Actor Razzie Awards. Initially be directed by David S. Goyer - director of The Unborn (2009) which is also the co-author of the story of The Dark Knight (2008), Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance finally then directed by Mark Neveldine and Brian duo Taylor (Crank, 2006) to still take advantage of the story and the script has been written by Goyer. Well ... do not be too happy to remember the Goyer's involvement in the writing of The Dark Knight. Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, however, is not released from the Ghost Rider, including the quality of the movie: cheesy, predictable and Nicolas Cage are increasingly visible in the appearance of acting sad.

Seriously! When watching Cage as Johnny Blaze play / Ghost Rider in one scene in Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance where he was crazy laughter, looking at the camera - like some of the performances you can see on YouTube - would not want them to know that Cage would long since back fond memories of many pleasant memory about the Academy Awards-winning actor. Moments in which Cage has always engaged in class films that provoke the attention of movie awards and praise from film critics the world. Anyway, Cage has always managed to appear convincing in appearance. Unfortunate enough to convince the appearance wasted by useless for class films Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance.

Continuing the story of Ghost Rider - Sorry! This time without the presence of Eva Mendes - Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance tells the story of Johnny Blaze, who hides himself from the outside of life in Eastern Europe due to a curse that must be lived as a Ghost Rider. Hiding then interrupted by the arrival of a French monk named Moreau (Idris Alba) who ask for help Blaze to help a boy named Danny (Fergus Riordan) is now, with her mother, Nadya (Violante Placido), is being pursued by Roarke (Ciaran Hinds), the incarnation of Satan on Earth who had also had an agreement with Blaze and eventually make it into a Ghost Rider.

He himself chasing Danny is not without reason. Just like Blaze, Nadya had once made a pact with Roarke ... and even had a relationship with him. A relationship that ultimately makes a child, Danny. Under the agreement, when the time comes, Danny will be used as a container for strength Roarke, who will then make the position Roarke on Earth will be even stronger and, of course, will bring an era of darkness upon the face of the Earth. Now, Danny's life, and the future of the Earth community, was in the hands of Blaze aka Ghost Rider Danny prepares to secure her revenge at the same time to Roarke.

Of course, as you can imagine through the brief descriptions above, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance contains a row of simple scenes that might have been widely used by many other similar Hollywood movie: a man came to the figure of the main protagonists to request assistance in order to help a child, the main protagonist initially refused, the boy chased the main antagonist character, the main protagonist ultimately save the child, the child then kidnapped again by the main antagonist character, formed a fierce battle and then the main protagonist was able to save the more children. And the movie ends. A bonus may be interwoven love story between a series of scenes.

Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor are the two directors who began to soar name berkai their performance in Crank, a pure action movie Jason Statham selling skills in performing a series of action scenes. In contrast to Crank, who seemed hardly requires a clear storyline, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance is a story that actually requires the existence of storytelling to be able to perform optimally. However, in reality, this film comes without a meaningful storyline. Neveldine and Taylor tried to replace it with the way the story line and visual effects action scenes are actually quite capable of impressing on some parts. But, still, it can not fill the position of the storyline that eventually went sour and flat.

Nicolas Cage appeared in a regular capacity as an actor. True, he did all possible to turn the character Johnny Blaze / Ghost Rider which he played. But the lack of characterization and storyline of this movie will likely be the biggest obstacle for any actor to be able to do so. Finally, even looks ridiculous Cage as Ghost Rider every show that is a bit lose her sanity. There was no appearance of the department's acting special filler in this movie. The whole range of actors Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance appears in the capacity of the ordinary. At least it does not disappoint.

Maybe if you did not bring any expectations before watching Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, you'll still be able to enjoy some parts of this movie, especially the parts where the director duo Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor presents a row of display is quite stunning visual effects. However, it certainly will not be able to cover the weakness of this movie as a whole. With the way the story is hardly offer something of interest, with the appearance of the ranks of actors who improvised acting, Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance marks, once again, the low point in my career as an actor Nicolas Cage.
